Indira Priyadarshini Stadium

The seating capacity of this stadium is 25,000 and many one-day cricket matches have been played here. However, now the ODI matches are held in ACA-VDCA stadium in Vizag.

ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium

In 2009, it was decided to rename ACA-VDCA stadium as 'Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium' in honour of late Chief Minister who was a sports lover. It is also known as Madhurawada Cricket Stadium. It is a multipurpose stadium. It is situated on National Highway (NH-5) and the seating arrangement is such that you get an unobstructed view of sports event in the stadium from your seat!

Owing to its hard batting pitch, IPL matches have been hosted here along with one T20 international and few ODIs too. The stadium is just 9 kms. away from Visakhapatnam Junction Railway Station and 13 kms. from Visakhapatnam airport. The stadium was built in the year 20003.

Do you know that the grass for this stadium was brought from the Caribbean? It is a very well maintained stadium as well. Nowadays, the stadium is being used entirely for cricket matches. There are also plans underway for increasing the seating capacity of the stadium to 36,000. In 2007, the stadium has successfully been assigned the 'Test' status. However, no test matches have been held here.

Other amenities in the stadium are good water drainage system,large LCD display, excellent floodlights. The view of greenery all around looks mesmerizing.
