Rushikonda Beach in Visakhapatnam

Visakhapatnam, often referred as the “Goa of East Coast” due to the coastal similarity of the counter in the west with the same name is one of the most sought after tourist destinations in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Rishikonda Beach is at a distance of 8 kms from Vishakhapatnam and is surrounded by white sand on the shore and with greeneries on the land area and is one of the most favorite evening hangout spots. The beach on the Bhimili-Visakhapatnam Beach Road is of 30 km and offers breathtaking view of sea,  hills, sand, and greenery. With many parks located on this road, Rishikonda Beach has Tenneti Beach Park on the cliff of Kailasagiri and has several points from which the rocky beach beneath can be seen.

Rushikonda Beach is one of very few beaches in the nation which is Golden, unspoiled, washed by the sun-warmed sea and is perfect for swimmers, water skiers and wind surfers. Being a haven for watersports lovers, it’s the scenic and serene beauty of the beach that appeals visitors throughout the year. The day that Visakhapatnam celebrates Holi, is the day when Rushikonda Beach turns into a rainbow of colors. With adventure activities like parasailing, it’s flooded with visitors throughout the day.

The tourist complex is equipped with several accommodation options for you!  You can stay in a tourist lodge or rent individual cottages. It also houses a restaurant and other amenities. Keeping its appeal in day to day public, the Government went an extra mile in setting up the IT Economic Zone with incubation blocks in the Rushikonda Hills near Rushikonda Beach. Tourists tend to include Rushikonda Beach in their One-Day Itenary due to its location being close to many other tourists spot.

The 14th century Sri Sarva Rusheswara Temple is surrounded by seven hills and situated in Rushikonda. According to legend, there is collection of water from all the seven sacred rivers brought in by the divine Sapta Rishi’s with their celestial powers and the water each well has a different taste in its purest form.
