One Day Trip in Visakhapatnam

RK Beach

You could start your day with a visit to the RK Beach which is in the center of the city hence being the most visited beach in Visakhapatnam. The white sand in the beach added with morning breeze provides a beautiful view to the spot. The adjoining areas are full of shops and food stalls.

VUDA Park

VUDA Park is one of the other man-made tourist destinations in Visakhapatnam very close to RK Beach hence it is advisable to explore the park as well. The park is filled with fun with water activities and greeneries.

INS Kurusura Submarine Beach

Located at the beach road, INS Kurusura Submarine Beach is yet another tourist destination where we could experience a submarine from within. Maintained by the Indian Navy, submarine museum has many artifacts of old days related to Indian Navy and Armed Forces in India. Experiencing the Radar in the submarine is yet another exciting feature of the museum.

Simhachalam TempleSimhachalam Temple in Visakhapatnam

Once you are done with the RK Beach, you could take a cab ride or a city bus to Simhachalam Temple. The location of Simhachalam temple is to die for. Covered in lush green valley on Eastern Ghats, Simhachalam Temple is an 11th century temple. The journey to Simhachalam is loved by all the adrenal junkies filled with Ghat roads.

Rama Naidu Film Studio

With many Indian Films been shot in Rama Naidu Film Studio, it happens to be one of the favorite tourist destinations in the city. The different sort of sets made available for tourists to visit makes the sights worthier in its own terms.

Rushikonda Beach

Yet another beach in Visakhapatnam which is famous for not being so commercialized is the Rushikonda Beach. This beach is famous for its Golden sand. Boat rides, water sports, skiing and swimming are some of the most intriguing features of Rushikonda Beach.

Kailasagiri

The major attractions of Kailasagiri are the statue of Lord Shiva and Parvathi and the Floral Clock. The 40 Feet statue of Lord Shiva and Parvathi could be seen from any part of the city when they are illuminated. The Floral Clock with a diameter of 10 feet is another attraction in the hills. The end of the hill when seen from a distance forms the shape of the edge of a ship hence is called as the Titanic Point which is a place to look out for.

Tenneti Park

Located just under the foothills of Kailasagiri, one could certainly make a small stop at the Tenneti Park while on the way to Kailasagiri.

Visakha Museum

One could also place Visakha Museum anywhere in between the itinerary as it is close to a lot of tourist spots in the city. Visakha Museum is situated in the 150 Year famous Dutch Bungalow. With a lot of artifacts, antiques and historical assets, this museum is certainly a place to spend some time of the day.

The city also hosts major tourist destinations like Araku Valley and Borra Caves however it depends on individual choice as these places are a bit far from the city and one could find it difficult to place them amongst the tourist spots in a one day trip.

Araku Valley

Araku Valley is located approximately 120 Kms from the city of Visakhapatnam and we need to take a train to reach there. The frequency of the train is quite high and we need to board the Visakhapatnam-Kirandul express to get there. The scenic beauty during the journey through Eastern Ghats comprises of tunnels and mountains which makes the experience worth-while.

Borra Caves

Approximately 18 Kms from Araku Valley are the Borra Caves which yet again is a favorite spot for locals and tourists. The caves formed through lime stones forming different shapes are a sight to experience.

As it is not possible to visit all the places in Visakhapatnam during a One Day Trip, one can certainly make the most of the day by following a strict plan and itinerary in mind. The transport in the city is pretty reasonable and helps us with our journey to these places.
